Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from the designated Districts of State of Madhya Pradesh and State of Uttar Pradesh (Jhansi & Lalitpur Districts only) to join as Airmen


Educational Qualification: (a) Group „X? (Technical) Trades. (i) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR (ii) Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering, as shown below, from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

(aa) Mechanical Stream: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Design & Drafting), Mechanical Engineering (Foundry Technology), Mechanical Engineering (Machine Tool Maintenance and repairs), Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning), Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die), Mechanical Engineering (Production), Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication Tech), Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM Design & Robotics), Mechanical (Advance Manufacturing Technology), Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechatronics.


(ab) Electrical/Electronics/IT Stream: Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics (Microprocessor), Electronics and Avionics, Electronics (Fibre Optics), Electronics (Robotics), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering/Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Technology. OR (iii) Passed 2 years Vocational Course along with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics & Mathematics as additional subjects from State Education Boards/Councils which are listed in COBSE list, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. If English is not a subject in vocational course then 50% marks should be in Intermediate/Matriculation. (b) Group „Y? (NON-Technical) {GTI & IAF(P)}Trades. Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR Two year Vocational Course from State Education Boards / Councils which are listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) list, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course

Pay & Allowances: During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Grade Pay, Military Service Pay (MSP), Group ‘X’ Pay {applicable for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades only} and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be as follows:- (a) Group „X? (Technical) Trades. Rs. 26,685/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual. (b) Group „Y? (Non-Technical) {For GTI & IAF (P)} Trades. Rs. 23,535/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

Date of Birth Block:  (a) Candidates born between 08 January 1997 and 28 June 2000 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally. (b) In case, a candidate clears the Selection Procedure then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Selection Procedure: Verification of Eligibility. Original Certificates, Marks Sheets and other required applicable original documents like NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Son of serving Air Force personnel (SOAFP) certificate (or) PPO, Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/discharged Air Force personnel (or) Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/Navy/Government organisation), Consent Form, signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age, and passport size colour photographs will be required and scrutinized/verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the eligibility prima-facie. Detailed verification will be carried out later in respect of candidates who pass Written Test. Candidature of those who do not meet the laid down educational criteria will be rejected during Initial verification of original certificates & mark sheets prior to conduct of written test and also during detailed verification on clearing the written test.
