Qualification: (a) Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency and (b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention in force.
Naval Architecture
Qualification : (a) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Post-Graduate Degree in Naval Architecture/ Naval Architecture and Ship Building, and with a Graduate degree in Naval Architecture/Naval Architecture and Ship Building – both from IMU and/or any University recognised by IMU.
Mathematics
Qualification: (a) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in Mathematics from a recognized Indian University or from an accredited foreign University. (b) A pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the C.S.I.R. or similar test like SLET/SET. (c) Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D degree shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/SET. Desirable: Teaching, Research, Industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization.

Age: Maximum 65 years
Method of recruitment : Recruitment will be done through an Eligibility Test-cum-Personal Interview. There will be an Eligibility Test (in pen-and-paper mode) of 2-hour duration in the forenoon followed by an Interview in the afternoon. There will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions divided into 3 parts as under: Part A (25 questions): Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elements of Information & Communication Technology, etc. Part B (50 questions): Nautical Science. Part C (25 questions): Global Shipping Industry, IMO Conventions, Codes and Regulations, ILO Convention on seafarers.
