Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following position.
Projects Title: Bioactive Bhubaneswar Biophysical Characterization Facility.
Position: Research Associate (01 position)
Remuneration: Rs. 47,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Job Specification: To carry out structural and biophysical analyses of proteins involved in infectious diseases, cancer, and plant biology.
Project duration: The position is initially for one year and could be extended upon satisfactory performance.
Eligibility & Selection:
Ph. D. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or any of the allied subjects. An ideal candidate will be competent in the biophysical characterization of macromolecules and protein crystallography, as required for the project. Experience working with an in-house X-ray diffractometer and/or analytical ultra-centrifuge will be advantageous for this position. First-author publication(s) in the field of structural biology is expected.
Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are waiting for defense/viva voce may also apply. But for such candidates, the fellowship the amount will be that of an SRF until he/she defends the thesis.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview
process.
