Project Assistant Science [Code No.1/3, 2/3 & 3/3] job vacancy in Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc)
Name of the Project :XII Plan Project Project of Interdisciplinary Science and Modelling [PRISM]
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors Degree in Science disciplines or Engineering disciplines (or) Masters Degree in Science disciplines or Engineering Disciplines.
Project Assistant [Code No.1/3] : The candidate will work on a project relating to modelling and predicting patient outcomes based on clinical data. The candidate should have familiarity with computer programming, statistics, and machine learning techniques. Expertise in the R or Python programming languages will be a significant plus.
Project Assistant [Code No.2/3] : The candidate will work on a project relating to analysis of next-generation-sequencing data from various sources including the ENCODE project. The candidate should have basis familiarity with bioinformatic pipelines including retrieval of sequences from online sources; file formats of bioinformatics/NGS data and in particular the formats used by ENCODE (GFF, FTF, BED, NarrowPeak, sam, ham, etc); basic familiarity with Unix/Linux systems; and be a good computer programmer in at least one language.
Project Assistant [Code No.3/3] : The candidate will work on a project involving the simulation of agent-based models for infectious diseases, refining and repurposing existing codes in C++. The candidate should be a skilled programmer in C++, familiar with the STL, and with the ability to write fast, efficient well-documents code. Experience with open source 3D graphics and animation software, especially BLENDER, would be an added asset.

Pay Scale : Rs. 25,000/- p.m. + HRA @ 30% on Consolidated salary. (or) Rs. 28,000/- p.m. + HRA @ 30% on Consolidated Salary.
Selection Method : Written test followed by Interview for short listed candidates on the same day. [or] Direct interview in case the no. of candidates appeared is less than five .
