Job Description:
Position Overview:
The International Payroll Specialist will play an integral role on the payroll team, working independently to prepare and process accurate and timely international payrolls on a monthly and bi-weekly basis. This position is hands-on and requires attention to detail, orderliness, and great customer service. A successful candidate will be proactive and has strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to research and resolve the most complex payroll problems. Collaboration in a cross-functional team environment and effectively interacting with all levels of the organization and vendors is critical.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Complete assigned payroll processing cycles in various time zones to meet all payroll deadlines. Ensure an accurate payroll and reporting function for each cycle is produced. Interpret pay policies (LOA, disability, worker’s compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are applied correctly to various earnings codes in compliance with country-based laws. Verify integrity of payroll data by conducting frequent audits and reviews of payroll output. Work closely with management and field to ensure accurate payroll information is received. Work closely with benefits team to ensure accurate benefit information is processed. Work closely with finance team to ensure accurate general ledger reporting and tax reporting. Integrate new or updated payroll/TLM applications as needed. Remain current on system updates and global payroll compliance and internal policies.
Required Characteristics and Credentials:
+3/5 years of India and Canada payroll processing experience. Knowledge of payroll regulations for India and Canada Experience with payroll and HR systems, preferably Workday, Zing HR, ADP Experience with new system implementation. High focus on internal customer service and have excellent problem-solving and follow-through skills. Be personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional in presenting self. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization Ability to learn skills quickly. Flexibility in dealing with multiple payrolls at one time. Excellent attention to details. Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, confidentiality, and diplomacy. Thorough knowledge of India and Canada payroll laws, tax requirements and reporting. Outstanding Microsoft Office (word, excel) skills required
