Database Architect/designer (0.6-2 Year experience)
Job Description:
Database administrators are in charge of storing, organizing, presenting, using and analysing data and database management software. Whatever the information storage needs of a company are, a database administrator strives to meet them. This can include setting up new computer databases or integrating data from old systems to new systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have strong
communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good
team-working skills.
- Knowledge of
general theory and database design.
- A good
understanding of database architecture, software and database management
systems
- Knowledge of
Structured query language (SQL).
- General understanding
of operating system, e.g.: Linux, windows
- General
understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and handling failover of a
database
- Monitor
performance of database systems resources and query throughput.
- Optimize SQL
Code as necessary.
- Monitor and
maintain database resources.
- Monitor and
maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and
database statistics.
- Database
installations, Upgrades, Migrations and configurations.
- Maintain and
administer database security access.
- Maintain
database documentation as required.
- Develop and
support MySQL database replication.
- Perform
Ad-hoc backups and restores.
- Proactively
monitor and respond to database alerts.
- Performs
regular database system performance monitoring and troubleshoots and resolves
database-related problems.
- Evaluate new
database products and features.
- Follow change management processes to implement database configuration changes.

Qualification:
Any graduate/post graduate with knowledge or min. 06 months experience of Database management/designing.
