Job Description

Job Summary
Required IT Support engineer for US-based Chemical company and minimum 3 to 4 years experience in industry, candidates should be based out in Hyderabad.
Responsibilities and Duties
Scope of Work

PC Support

• Diagnose & rectify Personal Computer problems;
• Load, Re-install or update Operating systems and software.
• Add, move or change peripherals, and drivers per user needs;
• Manage hardware upgrades, and add, move or changes;
• Coordinate with regional IT, negotiate, get quotations and procure PC and peripherals;
• Co-coordinate with vendors to repair systems;
• Support users to transfer data if required;
• Ensure Anti-virus patches are applied periodically and update it manually if needed;
• Coordinate and help user in case of virus attack;
• Maintain PC installation documentation up-to-date.

LAN Support

• Troubleshoot, and rectify local Internet issues (in coordination with vendors);
• All connectivity related issues and ensure minimal downtime of the network;
• Work with Eastman network team and rectify LAN, WAN and VPN issues or upgrades;
• Structured cabling management and ensure proper maintenance of its sub-systems;
• Maintain network diagram and documentation (update IP addresses, network information)

Server Management

• Monitor disk space activity & capacity planning to ensure optimum performance;
• Maintain server to ensure high availability
• Maintain shared drives and shared resources on the server intact;
• Ensure prompt user logging and maintain password confidentiality;
• Allocate disk space to users on approval;
• Add, modify and delete user accounts if required on approval;
• Ensure Anti-virus patches are applied periodically and update them manually when needed;
• Coordinate with the Server team to restore a backup as when required;

Asset Management Service

• Maintain a detailed inventory of existing IT hardware assets;
• Maintain a working copy of all software;
• Record changes & upgrades;
• Record Asset Movements;
• Put relevant tags on each IT asset;
• Coordinate with Admin assistant on disposing of old IT assets.

Telecom and Office Automation tools support

• Handle problems encountered with Telecom and Office Automation products;
• Installation and support of new software versions and Drivers;
• Assist users with basic operating features.

Required Experience and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Electronics / Computer Science / IT.
