Project Title : “Using wild ancestor plants to make rice more resilient to inceasingly unpredictable water availability

Qualification : B.Sc. (Ag.) (4 years) followed by MSc. in any discipline of Agriculture. However preference will be given to the candidates with Master degree in Agricultural Extension/ Extension Education/Agricultural Economics/Agri-Business Management. Candidate with master degree in Social Science/Economics (Special paper in Agriculture) with qualified NET conducted by the UGC for admission to Ph.D may also apply. Desirable: Experience in conducting field survey/Organizing training programme Demonstration and field days/Publication in the area of specialization is also desirable. Sociology/ Social work/ Agricultural Economics.

The Institute has two research stations- Central Rainfed Upland Rice
Research Station (CRURRS), Hazaribagh, in Jharkhand, and the Regional
Rainfed Lowland Rice Research Station (RRLRRS), Gerua, in Assam. These
research stations were established to tackle the problems of rainfed
uplands, and flood prone rainfed lowlands, respectively.
