JRF Atmospheric Science job recruitment in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal)
Project Title : ''National Carbonaceous Aerosol Programme (NCAP): Carbonaceous Aerosol Emissions, Source Apportionment and Climate Effects''
Minimum qualifications: This position requires a post-graduate degree (MS, MSc, M.Tech) in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics and/or Statistics, Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields from a recognized University/Institute. The candidate should preferably have a fundamental knowledge of solar variability, radiative transfer, matrix factorization methods, and Bayesian statistics.
Desirable: GATE/NET/UGC/CSIR JRF qualification. This position requires experience in data analyses including time-series analysis experienced with multivariate factor analysis such as CMB, PMF, UNMIX etc are desirable. Familiarity with scientific languages like C, python, shell scripting and experience in MATLAB, FERRET and NCL are also desirable. Experience with analysis of hyper-spectral satellite data such as that from OMI, GOME-2, AIRS, MODIS, or IASI will be a plus.
