Project title: Thermal Transport Beyond Fourier's Law of Heat Conduction
About the project: As phonon MFP and characteristic length of the system become comparable,
diffusive transport regime and Fourier's law is no longer applicable. This limit is often seen in
semiconducting electronic components where thermal management (heat dissipation from micro to
nano scale electronic chip) has become a critical issue to improve the performance. Development of
MC based solution to BTE is one step forward towards accurate simulations of heat transport at
micro and nano-scale.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government
Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD,
ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Job Profile:1. Candidate should have experience in programming (MATLAB, PYTHON, C++) and Finite Element Methods.
2. Candidate should have experience in using spectrometers.
3: Candidtate should have experience in solving Boltzmann Transport Equation using Monte Carlo
solution technique.
Pay Details:Consolidated salary Rs.31000/- p.m. + HRA
