Job Description

Eligible candidates are invited to attend Walk-in Interview on the following dates for the posts of Junior Research Fellow sanctioned under ICMR Multicentric project entitled “Managing depression in diabetes: A multicentre randomized controlled efficacy trial comparing Fluoxetine and mindfulness in primary care setting.’’ under Dr Suravi Patra, Department of Psychiatry on the 13th of April 2021.

The essential qualifications, experience, consolidated salary and service tenure are:

2. Project Name and Project ID : A multicentre randomized controlled effectiveness comparison trial of Fluoxetine and mindfulness for depression in diabetes in primary care setting. EMF/14/18

3. Project Duration : Project duration is three years, this is the third year of the project. Initial appointment will be on contract basis for 3 months and based on performance, extension for further 3 months shall be given.

4. Brief Description about Project : Randomized controlled trial of fluoxetine and mindfulness in diabetic patients with depression.

5. Resource Requirement : One Clinical Psychologist/One Psychiatric Nurse/One Public Health . specialist

6. Education : M. Phil. (Clinical Psychology)/ Ph D (Clinical Psychology)/ B.Sc (Nursing with M.Sc. (Psychiatric Nursing) / Ph D (Psychiatric Nursing)/BDS with MPH/BSc(Nursing) with MPH

7. Experience : Experience with conducting clinical trials and having research will be preferred.

8. Key Skills : Ability to carry out psychiatric interview and administer screening and diagnostic scales in psychiatry. Ability to carry out anthropometric measurements

11. Proposed Salary : Rs.31,000+ 16% HRA (=35,960) (Rupees Thirty five thousand nine …….hundred sixty only)

12. Core Responsibilities :

Perform Mental Status Examination. Ability to use ICD10 DCR to diagnose depressive disorders. Administer psychometric scales for evaluation of depression, Quality of life and compliance to antidiabetic medications. Clinical assessments like Pulse, Blood Pressure. Take complete anthropometric measurements. Collect blood samples. Prepare reports for quarterly appraisal. Ensure quality of data management
