Junior Research Fellow job recruitment in National
Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya.
Name of Post : Junior Research Fellow
Project Title : “Design & development of an intelligent
controller for a Vienna Rectifier based gridconnected hybrid energy conversion
system comprising of wind & solar energy sources”.
Essential Qualification : First class M. Tech. or M.E. degree
in Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering with
specialization in Power Electronics and Drives/Power System. Candidates who are
in final semester of M-tech may also apply but if selected their admission will
be subjected to the submission of final certificate.
Desirable Qualification& Experience : It is highly
desirable that the candidates have research experience in: modelling, design
and control of Power Electronic Converters (mainly dc-dc and dc-ac converters),
integration of renewable energy sources with grid etc. and hands on experience
in developing and working on hardware / laboratory prototype of the converters.
Knowledge of simulation soft-wares like MATLAB (programming/SIMULINK), PSPICE
and/or PSIM is also highly desirable. Candidates must be well conversant to
programming with different digital controllers like FPGA/Microcontroller/DSP.
Age limit : Must not be over 28 years as on November 30th,
2016 (relaxation as per the norms/orders of Government of India).
Fellowship : A consolidated salary/fellowship of INR 25,000/- per month will be paid during first two years and INR 28,000/- per month will be paid during third year. Hostel accommodation will be provided. Medical facilities are available with institute doctor and two hospitals.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT)
Meghalaya is
one among the thirty NITs in India established as an Institute of National
Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource
Development, Government of India. The Institute started its journey as one of
the youngest NITs of India in the year 2010 and the first batch of B. Tech
students of NIT Meghalaya in the three disciplines of ECE, CSE and EEE will be
graduating in June, 2014. At present the Institute has nine departments
covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines,
offering B. Tech and Ph. D programmes. The M. Tech programme is being started
from 2014. Other post graduate programmes like M. Sc and MBA shall also be
started soon. At present the Institute is functioning from a temporary campus
in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya.
