Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates to work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project funded by SERB, Department of Science & Technology,Government of India, under the supervision of Dr. Biswajit Pandey, Principal Investigator, Department of Physics, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan.

Title of the project: An information theory based study of the large-scale environmental
dependence of galaxy properties in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Funding agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) , Department of Science and Technology, Government of India

Name of the position available: Junior Research Fellow/Number of positions available: One (1)

Essential criteria for eligibility: M. Sc. in Physics with minimum 55% marks or equivalent GPA
and NET and/or GATE qualified.

Desirable criteria: Some knowledge of programming in C/C++/Python/Julia.

Age limit: Not more than 28 years as of the due date of submission of application (relaxable as per
the norms/orders of Government of India).

Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 31000 + 8 % HRA, Advancement to SRF (Rs. 35000+ 8% HRA) is
possible after 2 years following a review of the candidate's progress as per rules and guidelines laid
out by SERB and Visva-Bharati.
