Essential Qualification and Experience: BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engg./Chemical Technology/Material Science and Engg./Nano Science/Tech./Polymer Science & Technology or equivalent with NET/GATE Or ME/M.Tech in Chemical Engg./Chemical Technology/Material Science and Engg./Nano Science/Tech./Polymer Science & Technology or equivalent with NET/GATE Or M.Sc. in Chemistry with NET/GATE Preference will be given to those candidates having 1st class Degree with some research experience in the respective field.

Ray, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal in presence of eminent personalities : Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Prof. C.V. Raman, Dr. Meghnad Saha and others. Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar was then Director-General of CSIR while Dr. Atma Ram was Director of the Institute.
