JRF/SRF job opportunities in Wildlife Institute of India (WII)

Project Title  :  ‘Understanding Population Dynamics, Space Use, Movement and Diet of Leopards in Junnar Taluka, Maharashtra for Human Leopard Conflict Mitigation’

Junior Research Fellow – Ecology

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Agriculture/Environmental Sciences/Statistics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University

Desirable :  Candidate(s) with prior experience in sampling design and animal abundance estimation are preferred. Prior experience of sampling using camera trapping, distance sampling and radio-telemetry. Knowledge of GIS and GPS is desirable. Should be able to undertake arduous field work under rigorous conditions.

Emoluments :  Rs. 31,000/- + HRA

Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women Candidates may be relaxed as per the rules.

Junior/ Senior Research Fellow – Sociology

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  Masters’ Degree Social Sciences or related subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Minimum 2 years post masters research experience required for SRF

Desirable :  Candidate(s) with prior experience in conducting socio-economic surveys related to conservation are preferred. Should be able to undertake arduous field work under rigorous conditions.

Emoluments :  Rs. 31,000 (JRF) / 35,000 (SRF) + HRA

Age Limit  :  Not exceeding 28 (JRF) and 32 (SRF) years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women Candidates may be relaxed as per the rules.
