Qualification : Matric Pass
Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidates who posses ITI certificate in Fitter Trade done through a regular course from an institution recognized by the H.P. Govt.
Age : The applicant should be between 18 to 30 years as on 01-01-2017
Mode of Selection : The total selection process is of 100 Marks with following distribution:
1. Marks obtained in Matric to be awarded on prorata basis : 60 marks
2. Technical qualification of ITI in Fitter trade obtained through Regular Course (not through distance education) from the institutions recognized by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. There will be no prorata distribution of marks but fixed 25 marks would be given to a candidate having ITI qualification in Fitter trade irrespective of his percentage in ITI, this being a preferred qualification. Any other technical qualification ITI including higher technical qualification will not be ,1 considered for purpose of granting 25 marks.- 25 Marks
Personal Interview – 15 Marks
Fee : Rs. 100/- for General Category Candidates and ,Rs. 50/- for reserved categories. The fee is to be paid either through Bank Draft or through Indian Postal orders, which shall be payable in favour of 'Accounts Officer (Bankingr), HPSEBL, Vidyut Bhawan, ShimJa-171004.

Himachal Pradesh is almost wholly mountainous state having altitudes ranging from 350meters to 6,975 with climate conditions varying from semi-tropical to semi-arctic. The total population of Himachal Pradesh as per 2011 census was 68,56,509 with population density being 123 persons per sq. Km. Electric supply at the time of formation of the state in 1948 was available only in the Capitals of the erstwhile princely states and the connected load at the time was less than 500 kW. Thus the organization of the power utility in the state began relatively recently and first electrical division was formed in August,1953 under the Public Works Department. Subsequently a department of M.P.P & Power was formed in April, 1964. The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board was constituted on 1st September, 1971 in accordance with the provisions of Electricity Supply Act (1948) and has been reorganized as Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd. w.e.f. 14.06.2010 under company act 1956. Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), having its registered office at Vidyut Bhawan, Shimla- 171004, Himachal Pradesh is responsible for supply of Uninterrupted & Quality power to all categories of consumers in Himachal Pradesh at the most economical rates. This power is being supplied through a network of Transmission, Sub- Transmission & Distribution lines laid along the length and breadth of the Pradesh.
