Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) invites application for the position Junior Project Consultant 

Name of Projects: Environmental Audit and Environmental Performance Index Ranking of 35 open cast coal mines of Coal India Limited.

Vacancy: 1

Stipend (Rs. /Month) : 50,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)

Duration: 01 year

Qualification & Experience : First class Master’s degree in Biological Science with experience in Ecology and Biodiversity assessment in relation to developmental projects for a period of 5 years.
OR Retired Government Employees with Grade pay of Rs. 4600/- with experience in the field of Biological Science / Ecology and Biodiversity Assessment in relation to developmental projects for a period of 5 years in line with Consultant ‘A’ position as per MoEF&CC notification.

Desirable: Knowledge of Computer application. Willingness to travel in remote locations including field work to collect data, carryout desk based research, interpretation of data and report writing.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for Project Associate is 35 years and 32 years for Senior Project Fellow, which is relaxable upto 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years for OBC as per ICFRE/Govt. of India Rules

The Government of Mysore had set up a Forest Research Laboratory (FRL) at Bangalore in 1938. In the initial years, work was carried out mainly on properties and uses of different timber species, essential oils, other non-wood forest products and protection of wood and trees from pests and diseases. In 1956, this laboratory was organised as a regional centre of Forest Research Institute and Colleges, Dehra Dun. In 1977, Sandal Research Centre was set up to undertake research on wide-ranging aspects of genetics, silviculture and management of sandal, a valuable tree well distributed all over Southern India.
