1. Position: Junior Project Fellow JPF

2. Number of Positions: Two 02

3. Title of The Project: Preparation of Nalla diversion with Surface Runoff management study pertaining to Guali Iron Ore Mines of M/s OMC Ltd. in Keonjhar district of Odisha

4. Principal Investigator: Prof. S. R. Samadder, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science & En ineerin , IIT ISM Dhanbad, Pin-826004. Email: samadderQiitism.ac.in

5. Tenure of Project: One year 01

6. Job Description (in maximum of 100 words): The job involves field work for data collection in Iron Ore mining region. Collection and analysis of the data related to rainfall trends, surface topography, watershed related analysis, runoff estimation and designing of diversion channel for runoff drainage. The job involves detailed analysis in the GIS environment using Remotely Sensed data as well as collection of ground data for validation of the various results related to the project. The project also involves compilation of data, writing research articles and preparation of final report.

7. Essential Qualification: 

a. B. Tech./ B. E in Environmental Engineering/Civil/Mining or Equivalent with at least two years of active work experience in GIS and Remote Sensing applications for Hydrological Studies. (or)

b. M. Tech/ ME in Environmental Science and Engg./Civil/Mining/Geo-informatics or Equivalent with at least one year of active work experience in GIS and Remote Sensing applications for Hydrological Studies. (or)

c. M.Sc. /MS in in Environmental Science/Geo-informatics or Equivalent with at least one year of active work experience in GIS and Remote Sensing applications for Hydrological Studies.

8. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of Image Processing Software such as ERDAS Imagine, ENVI and GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS. Working knowledge of SWAT Toolbox. Knowledge of at least one Programming Language (Python or R or Java Script). Knowledge of field data collection for hydrological studies.

9. Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- per month

Age Limit:
Age and Relaxation (if any) 30 Years (Age relaxation is applicable for OBC and SC/ST candidates as per GOI Rules
