Junior Project Fellow

Title of the Project :  High Altitude Transition Zones in Himachal Pradesh: Long-term Studies to Assess the Effects of Global Warming (Phse-Il)' by HP Medicinal Plants Society (HPMPS).

Qualifications :  M.Sc. (Forestry/ Botany/ Environment Science).

Desirable :  Good experience of working in the Trans-Himalaya: should have basic plant identification know how of the state: basic photography skills and also be con fortable in computer application. Ready to undertake extensive foot touring in the cold desert areas of Lahaul & Spiti.

Emoluments : Rs. 16,000/- per month

Title of the Project :  Identification, Ecological Assessment for Selection & Screening of Superior and Insect-Pest Resistant Clones of Salix for their Cultivation, production Trends and Conservation in the Cold Deserts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Qualifications : First Class M.Sc. (Forestry' Botany/ Environment Science).

Desirable :  Good experience of working in the Trans-Himalaya: should have basic plant identification know how of the state: basic photography skills and also be confortable in computer application. Ready to undertake extensive foot touring in the cold desert areas of Lahaul & Spiti.

Emoluments :

i) For NET Qualified 25000/- per month

ii) Without NET:  16000/- per month

Project Assistant

Title of the Project :  High Altitude Transition Zones in Himachal Pradesh: Long-term Studies to Assess the Effects of Global Warming (Phse-ll)' by HP Medicinal Plants Society (HPMPS).

Qualifications : B.Sc. Botany/ Bio-Technology/ Graduate degree or equivalent.

Desirable : Good experience of high altitude trekking/ camping above 3500 in in the main Himalaya: should have basic plant identification know Inn% of high altitude transition zones: basic photography skills and also be comfortable in computer application. Ready to undertake extensive foot touring in the alpine areas of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi valley.

Emoluments :  Rs. 15,500/-per month (fixed)

Project Assistant

Title of the Project :  Carbon sequestration potential of existing land use system in Lahaul Valley, Himachal Pradesh.

Qualifications : B.Sc. (Forestry/ Botany).

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidate having experience in related field.

Emoluments :  Rs. 15,500/- per month (fixed)
