Title of project: Effect of titanium and zirconium addition on the nano-cluster formation and creep properties of ferritic oxide dislRrsion strengthened (ODS) steel processed by powder forging Sponsor of the project Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
Project position(s) and number: Junior Research Fellow (JRF), one.
Qualifications: M. Tech / M.E (Metallurgical Engg. / Materials Engg. / Materials Science) with GATE / NET
Emoluments: Rs.31,000/month +HRA (8%) first two years and Rs.35,000/month +HRA (8% )for the third year.
Duration: Three years
Job description: The project deals with the development of oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic steels with nano-cluster dispersoids derived from Ti, Zr and Y 203 for nuclear applications. The material will be processed by mechanical alloying followed by powder forging (powder metallurgy route). This will be followed by nano-cluster characterization and determination of mechanical properties especially the creep properties.
