This posting is for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position DST-TIH TIH-IoT Technology Development Program with Dr. Chalapathi, Assistant Professor, BITS_Pilani, Pilani Campus, Rajasthan
Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for
the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Associate-1 in a time-bound
research project for a temporary period purely on a contractual basis as per
the following details:
Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate-1
Project Title: LoRa-WSN-based IoT Communication Platform for Precision Agriculture
Funding Agency: DST TIH Foundation for IoT and IoE
Principal Investigator: Dr. G S Sesha Chalapathi Department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering
Project Tenure: Till 31 March 2024 (with a possible 6-month extension)
Job Description:
This project aims to develop a communication platform using the LoRa
protocol for precision agriculture applications. The JRF would get an
opportunity to work on a hardware platform that will be deployed and tested on
an agriculture farm. This sensor network aims to collect various soil, weather,
and plant health parameters for timely and efficient decision-making to
increase crop productivity. The JRF will integrate the sensors, implement
communication protocols and investigate the optimal sensor deployment in
agriculture farms.
Qualification:
M.E. / M. Tech. in Embedded Systems/
Electronics Engineering or Equivalent degree along with GATE/NET qualification.
OR M.Sc. in Electronics or equivalent degree.
Prior working experience in
microcontroller-based hardware projects, sensor interfacing with
microcontrollers, sending data to the cloud, etc.
Desirable:
a) Good written and spoken English and some
experience in technical writing.
b) Working Knowledge of
Machine Learning and Deep Learning will be an added advantage.
Fellowship:
₹ 31,000/- per month for NET/GATE qualified
candidates.
₹ 25,000/- per month
for non-NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Registration for PhD.:
Selected candidates will be given the opportunity for a full-time Ph.D.
program at BITS, Pilani as per the institute norms.
NOTE: Students with M.Tech. in Power Electronics/ Electrical
Engineering/ Power Systems and related branches in Electrical Engineering NEED
