Urban Planner/Urban Infrastructure Specialist recruitment in Kolkata Urban Services for the Poor (Kanchrapara Municipality)

Urban Planner/01 Post

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Planning/Social Science/ Architecture/ Civil Engineering having specialization/paper in urban development or planning or environment related subjects. c) Experience: Urban Planner/ Management Expert, with strong background in project management with 3-5 yrs in a managerial position Experience in working with Urban Development Programmes Experience in Urban Reforms and Capacity Building programmes for ULBs

Urban Infrastructure Specialist/01 Post

Educational Qualification: Graduate engineer from recognized university. Have a broad range of experience in urban infrastructure and a strong background in public health engineering, especially water supply and sanitation c) Experience: Have at least 3-5 yrs. experience in designing and managing municipal infrastructure projects, d) Other Qualifications: Be very familiar with the laws and procedures of the Indian municipal environment.

The KUSP, in full Kolkata Urban Services for the Poor, is one of the newest additions to Department for International Development’s (DFID) continuing endeavor to reduce urban poverty in India.  The current project in West Bengal has been officialised through a 8th May’ 03 letter of Charlotte Seymour- Smith, the Minister (Development) and Head, DFID India, to Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, confirming the UK Government’s allocation of funds vis-à-vis the KUSP program. The grant was made on the basis of Project concept note being jointly developed by Government of West Bengal and Government of India in 2001.
