Legal Fellows/Social Work Fellows job opportunities in Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on contract basis
Legal Fellows
Qualification: Degree in Law. Registration as a practicing advocate with Bar Council of any State in India Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Marathi. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to draft bail applications. Familiarity with use of MS-Office, emails and the internet. Prior experience in similar field of work or work with the District Legal Services Authority or NGO is desirable. Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently. During the contract period, Fellows will not provide legal representation in independent capacity. During contract period, Fellows shall not take up any other employment without the prior permission of the employer.
Experience: Preference may be given to persons having 2-3 years of experience in legal practice. This requirement may be relaxed
Nature of Appointment: Contract (3 years, starting November 1, 2018)
Gender: In Latur, only male applicants are invited. In Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, applicants of any gender are invited.
Salary: Rs. 30,000 per month.
Social Work Fellows
Qualification: Master’s degree in Social Work. In Latur district, there is relaxation in qualification. Applications are also invited from persons holding Bachelor’sdegree in Social Work. Knowledge of computer skills. Ability to read, write and speak in Marathi, English and Hindi. Familiarity with the use of MS-Office, emails and the internet. Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently. During contract period, Fellows shall not take up any other employment without the prior permission of the employer.
Experience: Preference may be given to social workers with minimum 2-3 years of experience or work experience in the criminal justice system.
Nature of Appointment: Contract (3 years, starting November 1, 2018)
Gender: In Latur, only male applicants invited. In Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane districts, applicants of any gender are invited.
Salary: Rs. 30,000 per month.
Location: Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Latur
