Job Role:
  • The Customer Service role is the front line of Vishwa Samudra Shipment Services Pvt Ltd. You will be responsible for providing high-quality service to our customers. 
  • This role requires you to be in constant customer contact, you will be required to communicate professionally in English and be willing to work flexibly to work in shifts. 
  • You will be focusing on delivering excellent service and maximising opportunities through proactively identifying and addressing customer needs. 
  • Calm and objective under pressure, you should possess and develop strong interpersonal and empathy skills, learn new approaches and knowledge quickly and actively look for responsibility. 
  • We will rely on you to work on tasks independently and take appropriate responsibility for actions and decisions, so you will be reliable, responsive and capable of rising to the challenge. 
  • Driven to achieve challenging targets and keen to improve your own performance. 
  • The role expects you to be sensitive and understanding towards others; prepared to go out of your way to help. 
  • A conscientious approach is important in the Customer Service role, where it is important that deadlines are met and tasks are completed on a timely fashion.

Job Description :
  • Acquire and update the required knowledge for the role. Work to procedure and as requested by the Line Management. 
  • Demonstrate good personal judgement when assessing customer needs, providing confident reasoning on a face to face basis when explaining why decisions have been taken. 
  • Build and maintain good relationships with staff through a genuine desire to understand their needs and support them. 
  • Go out of your way to make customers and staff with different values or background feel welcome and respected. 
  • Use empathy and adapt your behaviour and style of communication to suit your audience. 
  • Uphold high standards of quality and quantity ensuring accuracy of work as well as speed of delivery. Engage in conversation with customers, building rapport and asking questions in order to build a better understanding of their needs. 
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations, legal obligations and data protection rules. 
  • Ability to follow instructions and seek advice or look up information if required. 
  • Cope with setbacks when targets aren’t met and remain tenacious in the pursuit of excellence in difficult times. 
  • Proactively seek feedback from customers and act upon it. 
  • Take on board new ideas and adapt them further to make them your own.
Knowledge & Skill Sets Required: 
  • Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written with experience of sharing information effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and influence customers to take appropriate action to meet their needs.
  • To build effective and professional customer relationships which create customer advocacy.
  • Ability to learn quickly, multitask and transfer knowledge.
  • Flexibility and open to change and innovation.
  • A clear understanding of how to balance and create value for both the customer and the port. Ability to commit to a rotational working pattern required for the role. i.e. working on an operating window of 8am-8pm, Monday to Sunday.
  • Experience of working in collaboration with other colleagues, supporting them when possible on key assignments or projects.
  • Being an integral part of the team expected to identify opportunities in day to day activities that contribute to the success of self and team.
