Position: – Manager / Senior Manager – Stores and Procurement.

Summary:

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore invites application for the position of Manager / Senior Manager – Stores and Procurement. S/he must plan, source, negotiate and procure materials of specified quality for user departments at competitive price and ensure timely delivery, as per Government of India’s General Financial Rules (GFR) norms of and Institute procurement guidelines.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• S/he is responsible for end to end, procurement planning and stores management material and good procured by the Institute. This includes timely planning and delivery of materials required by various user departments in the Institute as per GFR guidelines and Procurement policies of the Institute. S/he must ensure that materials delivered have met set expectations/ timelines/guidelines.
• S/he is expected to interact and understand the needs of the end users, initiate procurement processes, identify vendors, evaluate vendors, negotiate price and finalize the potential vendors for the same as were procurement policies of the Institute.
• S/he is also expected to contribute to cost reduction initiatives by way of identifying alternative sources / vendors and materials to accrue savings for the Institute, use costing-based approach in addition to comparing competitive quotes to discover the right price for the materials and goods purchased.
• S/he is also expected to contribute towards driving budgets, participate in the annual budgeting and material demand planning exercise. As a part of functional activities, s/he is also required to identify the regular consumed items and finalize the yearly rate contracts.
• S/he should manage the operations of the stores, which includes, processes related to receipts and issues of materials and goods to internal stakeholder. This would include periodic review and disposal of unused/scrap items as per internal guidelines.
• Manage the Annual Stock taking exercise and ensure compliance with the institute guidelines on the same.
• Should ensure all procurement and stores management processes are managed digitally and improve business processes related to the same in an ERP driven work environment.
• Any other work related to Materials Management assigned from time to time.

Key Skills / Abilities/Knowledge required:

• Should have detailed knowledge and experience in ERP systems, software on stores and Procurement management Office Automation software, GFR Norms and procuring through GEM portal.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills - oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate across levels of managers and executives in a professional as well as appropriate manner.
• Should have experience in procurement planning and vendor management.

Educational Qualifications:• The Candidate should be a first-class MBA graduate / or a Master’s degree or / PG Diploma
• Qualification in Materials Management from a reputed Institution will be desirable.
• Should have minimum 16-20 years of experience out of which should have minimum 10 years of post-qualification professional experience in Materials Management.
• Experience in Autonomous Body / Academic Institution / PSUs is desirable.
• Age: 45-55 years.

Compensation:• As per Institute norms.

Reporting Relationships

• Senior Manager / Manager – Stores and Procurement will be reporting to Chief Administrative Officer.

Audience/interface:

• Internal: Various departments in the Institute, Faculty
• External: Vendors

This position is on contract. Selected candidates should be prepared to take up the assignment immediately. Maximum age limit for being appointed under these Rules will ordinarily not exceed 60 years for Non-teaching staff, subject to discretion from the director.
