The report describing the activities performed, documentation research carried out and testing results must be submitted.

Stream: Mechanical Engineering

Specifications:

• Parts to be designed as per casting / injection moulding manufacturability
• Exceptions for small and complex parts , which can be designed as per 3d printing manufacturability
• Dimensions: As small as possible
• Mechanisms are already available in the market , challenge is to shrink and make it within our specified dimensions

Doser

Activities:

• Design a doser assembly, which includes Grinding of beans, mechanism to dose a measured quantity of powder into capsules
• Dimensions : 100x200x300mm
• Documentation research for simple and effective mechanisms to be adopted to solve the described problem statement
• Prepare MBOM and EBOM
• Make use of more standard parts, which reduces fabrication man hours wherever necessary
• Selection of suitable material as per Food processing Industry standards
• Make the design optimized, such that the material and fabrications costs are kept to a minimum
• Perform CAE simulation of the model and document the results
• Submit the design & CADmodels & CAE results to company

Capsule sealing , biodegradable

Activities:

• Design a mechanism to pick and place biodegradable sealing pod on capsules.
• pneumatics can not be used.
• dimension 100x150mmx200mm
• Documentation research for simple and effective mechanisms to be adopted to solve the described problem statement
• Prepare MBOM and EBOM
• Make use of more standard parts, which reduces fabrication man hours
• Make the design optimized, such that the material and fabrications costs are kept to a minimum
• Perform CAE simulation of the model and document the results
• Submit the design & CADmodels & CAE results to company
