Job Description:
The roles and responsibilities of the Medical Record Review Lead include the following:
· Adhering to all official coding rules and CMS guidelines for risk adjustment reporting
· Ensuring accuracy, completeness, specificity, and appropriateness of diagnosis information
· Training associates for American Association for Professional Coder Certification (AAPC) exam
· Driving transition toward ICD 10
· Creating world-class MRR operational team that consistently meets new benchmarks on productivity, accuracy, compliance, and customer service
· Adhering to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Education—BSc/MSc/postgraduate in medical background
· Experience—3-6 years of relevant experience, with minimum 3 years of experience in medical coding and compliance
· Understanding the ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT4 guidelines
· Ability to handle large-scale MRR operations for multiple clients
· Certifications of CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, or CCS preferred
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to coordinate multiple deliverables from multiple groups
· Ability to actively manage and mitigate risks
