Pre-matric Scholarship conducts Ministry of Minority Affairs
Subject: Physical Allocation of Scholarships and Time-line activities under Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to the notified minority communities for the year 2016-17-reg.
Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme from 2014-15 with 100% Central (ending. Under the scheme, Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains, pursuing studies in India in a Government or Private School from Class I to X, who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all sources does not exceed Rs.l lakh.
The Community-wise Physical allocation are enclosed for Fresh Scholarship in respect of your State/UT under the Scheme of Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme along with Timeline for the financial year 2016-17. As far as, Renewals of Scholarships are concerned, there is no target for them.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs was carved out of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and created on 29th January, 2006 to ensure a more focused approach towards issues relating to the notified minority communities namely Muslim, Christian, Budhist, Sikhs, Parsis and Jain. The mandate of the Ministry includes formulation of overall policy and planning, coordination, evaluation and review of the regulatory framework and development programmes for the benefit of the minority communities.
