National Overseas Scholarship conducts Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
Applications invited for National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities for the year 2016-17
Financial assistance to pursue Master's Degree and Ph.D courses abroad in the fields of Engineering & Management. Pure Sciences & Applied Sciences. Agricultural Science & Medicine. Commerce. Accounting & Finance and Humanities. Social Science & Fine Arts:
Eligibility : For Ph.D. - First class or 55%(fifty five per cent) marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master’s Degree. Preference would be given to the experienced candidates, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer. For Masters' Degree: - 55%(fifty five per cent) marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelor’s Degree. Preference would be given to the experienced candidates, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer.
Scholarships : A total of 20 scholarships to be awarded. out of which six scholarships are reserved for female candidates. Under the scheme, there is a provision of annual maintenance allowance of 9.900/-Pound (Great Britain) for courses in the United Kingdom and US $ 15,400/- for courses in other countries. In addition, there are provisions of tuition fees. cost of air passage etc.

Simultaneously, the Scheduled Castes Development Division, Tribal Development Division and the Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Division were moved from the Ministry of Home Affairs and also the Wakf Division from the Ministry of Law to form the then Ministry of Welfare.
