Job Title: Staff Technical Writer I (Member Technical)

Job Description
As a staff technical writer I, this resource will understand and produce technical reference, integration and release documentation for project development and internal stakeholders. The writer will work with diverse development teams and the product management throughout the development cycle from initiation through testing and release, and document information about the architecture and design, technology used, prerequisites, technical support information, entity relations, and other interrelated transactional software/database systems that incorporate multiple technologies. The associate will develop the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise and compelling information deliverables, and publish them to the designated repositories.

Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical writing
- Has knowledge of DITA; writes and edits information to industry’s standards
- Has working knowledge of tools/languages such as HTML, Markdown, PostMan, cURL , Visio , and similar tools.
- Is familiar with GIT, SourceTree and JIRA
- Ability to grasp technical specifications and functions of complex programs
- Spends time to gain operational and architectural knowledge of assigned products
- Attends relevant meetings and training sessions to gain operational and functional knowledge of product, tools, processes, domain and technology
- Follows departmental guidelines, the Microsoft Manual of Style, and/or the Chicago Manual of Style
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology
- Has an understanding of frontend, backend, middle-tier, enterprise resource diagrams
- Has worked in an Agile environment
- Create, assimilate, and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner
- Use prescribed tools/languages to author text, create charts and graphs, and incorporate diagrams and images into information deliverables
- Follows detailed documentation plans
- Produce project status reports
- Collaborate with developers, QA and others, as needed
- Collaborate with product management and enterprise architects
- Involve in release with launch team and support associates
- Work independently with minimal guidance and ensures accuracy in information documented
- Work as part of a development team
- Self-starter who grasps and develops domain knowledge
- Learn and adapt quickly to new technology and industry standards
- Demonstrate high attention to detail
- Identify and establish working relationship with all stakeholders and team members
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences in both verbal and written forms.
- Demonstrate understanding of copyright and accessibility requirements related to educational media content
