National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee invites applications through e-mail for the following purely project-based temporary position under the NHP project titled "Web GIS Based Spring Inventory for Vulnerability Assessment and Hydro-Geological Investigation of Selected Springs for Sustaining Local Water Demand in Ravi Catchment of Himachal Pradesh" at Western Himalayan Regional Centre, Jammu, UT of J&K.

3. Salary: Rs. 31000.00 + HRA (as admissible)
4. Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences/ Chemistry/ Applied Geochemistry/ Biochemistry OR Graduate degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course in Environmental/ Chemical engineering selected through a process described through any one of the following:
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR, UGC NET and GATE.
b. The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, 11Sc, IISER, etc.
5. Desirable: Experience of chemical analysis of water and hands-on experience in handling sophisticated water quality equipment.
6. Post Duration: up to March, 2022 (extendable 'up to termination of the project)
7. Nature of Work: Field & laboratory investigation. Place of posting shall be at WIIRC, Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir and periodic field visits will be done in Ravi River catchment (nearby Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh).

The maximum age will be 28 years as on 24.8.2021.
