National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) invites application for the position Project Scientist-B (Medical)
Project entitled: "Impact Evaluation of Screen and Treat approach for anemia reduction; A cluster randomized trial in rural Telangana funded ICMR
No of Post: 02
Qualification: MBBS or MPH following any of these degrees BAMS/BHMS/BDS from a recognized institute or university with two years experience. Knowledge of Local Language (Telugu)
Desirable: Experience of working on research studies in rural areas. Knowledge on process evaluation of research studies.
Nature of duties: Medical Supervision of IFA supplementation in rural areas. Liaising with local PHC Medical officer for treatment of severe anemia participants. Field supervision. Networking with state Government officials for smooth conduct of the study.
Cons. Emoluments: Rs.61 ,000/- p.m. plus HRA fixed without any allowances.
Tenure: Till JAN 2022 (extendable based on the performance/project extension)
Place of work: ICMR-NIN and based on requirement travel to field sites located at a distance of 20 - 30 km (Medchal) form NIN Hyderabad.
Age Limit: 35 years

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
