1. Project title: Development of Advanced Automatic Control based Wastewater Treatment Process towards Sustainable Water-Food-Energy Nexus
2. Position title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

4. Duration (in years): 3
5. Essential qualification:
i. B.E./ B.Tech/ or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Instrumentation and Control Engineering/ Biotechnology or relevant discipline (First class/ Second class)
ii. ME/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Process Control & Instrumentation / Process Control / Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related specialization
iii. GATE qualification (need not have valid GATE score)
6. Desired qualifications: Prior knowledge/ prior experience in Life cycle assessment, Wastewater treatment /operation etc.
7. Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- pm for the first 2 years and 35,000/- pm for the third year. Note: Salary is paid as per the guidelines of DST from time to time and fund received in each year.
8. HRA/ Accommodation: 16% HRA is admissible as per the project sanction order guidelines. The selected candidate is also eligible foron-campus Hostel & Mess facilities, subject to availability.
9. Job nature:
i. Experimental work to characterize the wastewater using respirometry
ii. Collection of wastewater samples
iii. Development of mathematical models for activated sludge processes consisting of sequencing batch reactor (SBR)
iv. Simulation studies on wastewater treatment plant layouts using MATLAB and GPS-X software tools.
v. Development and implementation of advanced control schemes on SBR based wastewater treatment plants.
vi. Analysis of water-energy-food nexus
