Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) recruitment in Odisha PSC
No. of Vacancy : 808(GN-404, Sc-131, ST-182, SEBC-91)
Qualification : (i) The candidate must have possessed M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree from Medical College or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India. (ii) The candidate must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical "Registration Rules 1965"; and (iii) Possessed required conversion certificates recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidate having Degrees from University of Foreign Countries.
Age : 21-32 Yrs
Pay Scale : Rs.15600-39100
Fee : A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs.300/-(Rupees three hundred) only. Candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and Persons with Disability (whose disability is not less than 40%) are exempted from payment of this fee.
Selection Process : The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Medical Officer(Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of written test and career marking. The career marking will be for 30% (10% each for class 10th class, 12th and M.B.B.S.) and 70% for written Test.

The Odisha Public Service Commission was constituted on 1st April, 1949 after it’s bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation of the Odisha Public Service Commission the strength of the Commission was three including Chairman . The strength increased to five in the year 1979 and further increased to six in the year 1996.
