Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (ISM Dhanbad) invites application for the position Operator

Number of Position (s): 01

Tenure of Position: Initially for a period of One year, which may extend for a maximum period of 3 years

Job Description (in maximum of 100 words):
i. Maintain multiple mammalian cell lines, ability to seed, infect and harvest cell cultures both adherent and in suspension. Good trouble shooting ability with primary cells and cancer cells.
ii. Prepare chemical solutions such as weighing chemicals (both liquid and dry) and mixing components according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Preparation of cell culture medium. Perform cleaning, disinfecting and storage of glassware/containers. Work independently and efficiently and able to complete tasks within defined time frames.

Essential Qualification: MSc in Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/ Biotechnology

Skill:
i. General laboratory skills, experience with pipettes, and experience with fluid handling, Microscopy, cell counter.
ii. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
iii. Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios and calculate dilution volumes.

Fellowship: Rs 30000.00 per month for one year and may be extended for next 2 years after satisfactory Performance with an additional increment of 5%.

Age Limit: Upper limit is 35 years at the time of appointment.
