PaaS Engineer - On-prem/Cloud Platform Jobs in Pune - Aligned Automation

In this role, Paas Engineer is responsible to help build and support new and groundbreaking large scale on-prem and cloud platform. This position will collaborate with multiple application teams, characterize workloads, focus on delivery of PaaS automation, develop performance metrics for on prem, emerging cloud platforms supporting all critical applications. Responsibilities and accountabilities :-

Implementation and ongoing administration of the platform-

Perform incident investigation, diagnosis and provide resolution-

Manage cluster provisioning, performance tuning, and security configuration-

System monitoring and remediation of any production issues-

Identify recurring problems and perform root cause analysis-

Provide and implement sustainable solutions-

Collaborate with the application teams to install updates, fixes, and patches-

Coordinate and perform version upgrades-

File system management and monitoring-

Act as a primary contact for the platform-

Point of contact for hardware and vendor escalation-

Document all service levels-

Perform application deployments acting as a gatekeeper to the production environment-

Interacting with various multi-functional teams to develop software performance model, and guide new hardware platform development-

Collaborate with software teams to develop performance metrics to evaluate different workloads: search, compute, storage, database, AI in eBay production framework environment like kubernetes, micro-service, disaggregate storage, application specific accelerators etc.-

Architecting new platform solutions to support high growth, scale and availability-

Reviewing system infrastructure, and proposing efficient scalable solutions-

Assist in sophisticated performance debug activities-

Documenting detailed technical architecture-

Generating performance projections for future systems-

Perform automation of platform by utilizing tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc. Key expectation is to optimize human workflow, write, test and launch applications without waiting on operation staff.-

Playbook creation & automation for repeatable tasks-

Perform installation of software (platform and code deployment)-

Strong knowledge of SecDevOps in a PaaS environmentQualifications:-

5+ years work experience, with BS/BA in Computer Science-

Solid understanding of computer architecture and workload bottle necks: CPU, Memory, Storage, Network, RDMA (remote direct memory access), persistent memory-

Solid proven record in software infrastructure development (SaaS, IaaS) at large scale.-

Prior experience in ODM (original design manufacturer) hardware development and optimization-

Prior experience in analyzing software applications in virtualized, containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker etc.)-

Experienced in serverless computing environment. Deployment of functions and logic Apps-

Prior system performance modeling is desired-

Experience with open source software stacks and database experience: Hadoop, NoSQL, Java, SPARK, MongoDB-

Experience with Restful application-

Good coding skills in some subset of (C, C++, System C, Bash, Python, shell, etc.)-

Strong communication and mentoring skills-

Teamwork, quick learner, able to adapt to changes, open to suggestions-

Knowledge and understanding of Jenkins Pipelines-

Ability to analyze console job log for errors-

OS Support and Troubleshooting: enterprise windows and Linux troubleshooting; Network, File Level Issues, Kernel Parameter Tuning
