Jorhat District Judiciary recruiting 50 Vacancies for the post of Para Legal Volunteers
Qualification : 1. He/ She must be a citizen of India. 2. The applicants should pass minimum matriculation with a capacity for over all comprehension and should have mindset to assist the needy in society coupled with the compassion, empathy and concern for the upliftment of marginalized and weaker sections of the society. They must have the unflinching commitment towards the cause which should be translated into the work they undertake. 3. Preferably the PLVs shall be selected, who do not look up to the income they derive from their services as PLVs, but they should have a mind set up to assist the needy in the society.

The establishment of the District & Sessions Judge Upper Assam District Jorhat was created on 15.11.1948 and has been made permanent w.e.f 1st April 1953. The first roll of honour of District & Sessions Judges of Assam Valley, Upper Assam Districts, Jorhat District was Mr. S.K Das, MA, BL. Presently, the territorial jurisdiction of the District is extended over one sub-division namely Majuli Sub-Division. Altogether, the establishment of the District Judge & the Chief Judicial Magistrate comprise of 11 courts manned by Judicial Officers of various grades.The District & Sessions Judge together with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Complex , Jorhat is situated in the heart of the city. The Current District & Sessions Judge as the head of the establishment is Mr. Pradip Kr. Khanikar.
