Assistant Professors Job vacancies in Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on contract basis
Department : Anaesthesia
No. of Posts : 04 (UR–02, SC-01, OBC-01)
Qualification : A postgraduate qualification i.e. MD Anaesthesia of an Indian University/Institute recognized by Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post.
Department : Hepatology
No. of Posts : 02 (UR-01, OBC-01)
Qualification : A postgraduate qualification i.e. DM Hepatology/Gastroenterology/ Pediatric Hepatology of an Indian University/Institute recognized by Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post.
Desirable : 6 months experience in Hepatology for candidates with DM Gastroenterology qualification.
Department : Neurosurgery
No. of Posts : 02 (UR-01, OBC-01)
Qualification : A postgraduate qualification i.e. M.Ch (Neurosurgery) (3 years) of an Indian University/Institute recognized by Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post. Or M.Ch. in Neurosurgery of six years Integrated course after MBBS.
Department : Obst. & Gyane
No. of Posts : 02 (UR-01, OBC-01)
Qualification : A postgraduate qualification i.e. MD/MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) of an Indian University/Institute recognized by Medical Council of India or MCI recognized qualification equivalent thereto for a teaching post.
Experience : For Sr. No. 1, and 4 Three years teaching and research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS.
Pay : The consolidated remuneration will be Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lac Only) per month.
Age Limit : The age limit is upto 50 years (age relaxation will be given to the candidate as per Govt. of India rules).

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions.
