Job Description

Ph.D Programme Experimental Physics in Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics
Ph.D. Admission for NET qualified candidates in January 2017
Candidates with NET-JRF (not Lectureship) qualification are invited to join the Ph. D. programme of the Institute in Experimental Physics and Biophysical Sciences starting from March 2017.
The programme includes a pre-Ph.D. course work, popularly known as Post M.Sc. programme.
Eligibility: Physics – Masters’ degree in Physics. Biophysical Sciences – Masters’ degree in Physics or Chemistry with Life Sciences at 10+2 level or Masters’ degree in Life Sciences with Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Selection procedure :
A first screening will be done on the basis of past academic records (HS or equivalent, B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and NET rank.
The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview process to be held at SINP during middle of February 2017.
The short-listed candidates will be informed by e-mail and also through announcement in our web page.
The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performances in all the above stages of screening and selection.
Fellowships and benefits :
The amount of fellowship, contingency grant, HRA etc. will be as per CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR rules (SINP will take no responsibility for such funds for students selected in this scheme).
Limited hostel accommodation will also be available.
