Admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme for the Autumn Semester 2020
Eligibility : Bright and motivated candidates who have obtained M.Sc. and/or M.Tech. degree with minimum 55% marks in the areas of Chemistry, Physics or Biology. Unless specified, the candidates must have CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, INSPIRE fellowship or other equivalent fellowship.
Selection Procedure : Note that these are the minimum eligibility criterion. The selection committee will short-list a certain number of candidates based on their applications, inform them through email of this short-listing, and may seek additional details, including recommendation letters. The short-listed candidates will subsequently have to appear for an interview by a panel of experts and the final selection will be based upon the recommendation of this expert panel. The interview will be held at IISER Kolkata's campus either at Mohanpur or Kolkata, the date and details of which will be communicated to the short-listed candidates. In exceptional circumstances, some interviews may also be held via video-conferencing.
