Ph.D Programmes

Doctoral degree Programmes leading to PhD are being offered by the five Faculties. The Faculties are

1. Faculty of Fisheries

2. Faculty of Ocean Science and Technology

3. Faculty of Ocean Engineering

4. Faculty of Climate Variability and Aquatic Ecosystem

5. Faculty of Management, Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility : Masters degree in the respective / related discipline recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Science with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (In the case of SC/ST candidates, an OGPA of 6.5/10.0).

Scholarships And Fellowships : Post-graduate and Ph.D students are being awarded the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Science Merit Scholarship and KUFOS Fellowship according to their eligibility. The main object of the fellowship is to give financial assistance and incentive to all the eligible Post-graduate students who are taking their thesis problem as part of the University Research Programme irrespective of their nativity.

General category : Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One thousand only)

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (native of Kerala only) : Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only)

For admission to any academic programme offered by the University, students who are studying in the final semester/year of the qualifying examination can also apply. However their admission will be provisional pending fulfillment of eligibility.

Mode of Selection : Through the Common Entrance Examinations and Interview conducted by KU FOS.
