For admission to Ph.D. programmes the applicant should submit their application to the University with the details of proposed research. This Admission is subject to the recommendations of the Admission Committee of the concerned Department and availability of Supervisors in the proposed area of research in the Department. Also the admission to the Ph.D. programme needs a valid Research Visa.

Eligibility  :   Students should have, in general, obtained the Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree from a recognized University under 10+2+3 / 10+2+3+2 system, i.e., the candidate should have studied for 15 years to obtain his/her/ bachelor’s degree and 17 years to obtain his/ her Master’s degree to apply for admission to P.G. and Ph.D. programmes respectively offered at each School/ Department/ Centre.

Scholarships :  All the full time scholars admitted to the Ph.D. of the University Departments will be eligible for a monthly fellowship of Rs.8000/- with contingency. All students of the M.Sc. Marine Biology and Disaster Management (Port Blair) will get scholarship. In addition, Merit Scholarships & Merit cum Means Scholarships are available to deserving students of PG Degree programmes, M.Sc/ MA/ Five Year Integrated Programmes.
