National Coucil Of Rural Institutes Ph.D Research Fellowship

Eligibility : A candidate has to fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for award of this fellowship:- A. Candidate should have already registered for the Ph.D programme in any department of the university and shall be pursuing research in any one of the following disciplines/subjects: (i) Rural Communication(ii) Rural Studies (iii) Rural Sociology /Social Work (iv) Rural Entrepreneurship, (v) Rural Education and any other area involving substantial rural engagement decided by the University and approved by the NCRI. B. The NCRI Fellow shall be required to spend at least 6 months of the fellowship period in the rural area where research is pursued.

Fellowship : Rs. 27,000/- per month for initial two years for JRF Rs. 33,000/- per month for remaining tenure for SRF

Selection Procedure :  The applications received will be scrutinized by a screening and selection committee as per university procedure. The recommendations of the name of the student of the selection committee shall be approved by the Vice-chancellor or Head of the Institutions and shall be forwarded to the NCRI for awarding NCRI fellowship. The decision of the NCRI will be final. The NCRI reserves the right to withdraw/cancel the award without assigning any reason. The effective date of release of fellowship shall be 1st August of the selection year or the actual date of joining the award whichever is later
