Eligibility: 1. Master’s degree holders fulfilling the criteria stipulated under clause 1 (1.1 and 1.2) as stated above. Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil course-work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the PhD degree in KKHSOU subject to the conditions laid by the Doctoral Research Committee. 2. A relaxation of 5% marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer/ differently-abled) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time. 3. A person whose M.Phil dissertation has been evaluated and the Viva Voce is pending may be admitted to the PhD programme subject to the conditions laid by the Doctoral Research Committee. Candidates possessing a degree considered equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to PhD programme.

Duration : PhD programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years.

Fee : Application form along with a Bank Draft/Bank Challan of Rs.1000 for PhD and Rs.500 for M.Phil drawn in favour of “KKHSOU Study Centre”, payable at SBI, Beltola Branch, Guwahati (Code:4419)
