Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme conducts Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D degree in Astronomy/astrophysics or a related discipline. Ph.D must have been secured within five years of date of submission of the application. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis and are awaiting appraisal are also eligible to apply.

2. Experience in astronomical data analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in analyzing interferometry data. Contd..

3. Experience in programming languages such as IDL and Python desirable.

4. Applicant should have good oral and written communication skills in scientific English.

Job Description: The Global View of Star Formation in the Milky Way (GLOSTAR) is a blind survey of the Galactic Plane with the JVLA in the 4-8 GHz band. The selected candidate will utilize survey data (broad band continuum in addition to spectral lines of formaldehyde, 6.7 GHz methanol maser, and radio recombination lines) to carry out research on high-mass star formation. Complementarity data taking and analysis with the GMRT using the new uGMRT system will be required. The candidate will have the opportunity to spend extended periods at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy

Research Fellowship : The Fellowship will be Rs.40,000/- per month.
