Job Description:

You will lead the development of creative solutions to challenging problems associated with the design of our new and existing infusion system product portfolio.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.
Applies a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by the primary area of expertise toward the development of new or enhanced products or processes.
Plans, executes and functionally directs important engineering assignments, which require independent judgment.
Effectively applies standard engineering principles with focus on mechanical design, experimental and computational methods to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.
Devises new approaches to complex problems through application and adaptation state-of-the-art techniques in the area of expertise, with focus on FEA and experimental mechanical engineering tools and methods
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Able to clearly present moderately complex concepts and tailor communication to audiences, including senior management. Organizes and presents technical project management overviews without assistance. Oral and written communication is well planned, organized and has a clear logical flow
Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technicians on assigned work
Generates and leverages existing and new intellectual property for new therapy and/or clinical use. Also, authors articles in journals and contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
Schedules and leads a team through the planning and execution of a medium size project. This includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules, interfacing with product development, quality and manufacturing teams
Creates and communicates project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones
Engages in personal and continuing learning in order to broaden knowledge in mechanical engineering and to gain knowledge in new fields of general engineering and/or therapy areas in order to improve the individual effectiveness and to avoid technical obsolescence
Capable of interacting with the multi-disciplinary teams in India and abroad. Ability to execute FEA runs in a quick turnaround in sync with the NPD milestone requirements
Willing to work under the mentorship and directions of CAE experts in India and abroad
Capable of leading technical discussions with the project teams establishing contacts with varied work culture
Multi-tasking in the simulation domain, motivated, positive attitude and good in networking

Qualifications:

A graduate or a post graduate/PhD in Mechanical Engineering and 8 to 12 years related experience. Prior experience in the medical device domain is a plus.
Sound knowledge in Material modeling (linear, Non- linear & Hyperelasticity)
Sound knowledge in doing FEM on complex Plastic, Sheetmetal, Casting & Rubber components.
Sound knowledge in designing of complex Plastic, Sheet metal, Casting & Rubber components.
Good knowledge on good engineering drawing practices.
Worked on Electromechanical devices.
Hands on Experience on Fatigue calculations.
Hands on experience in Impact / Drop simulations (Explicit Calculation)
Display a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by primary area of expertise.
Expert in the use of commercial FEA tools, i.e. Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, Hyperworks.
Extensive experience with commercial CAD tools, i.e. SolidWorks.
Ability to understand the application conditions and accordingly selection of mesh, assigning Boundary conditions and solve complex engineering problems with minimal assistance.
Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods
Effectively operate in and may facilitate cross-functional teams with guidance
Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications considering timelines.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for engineering projects with substantial complexity and scope
Ability to drive change initiatives.
Open for learning new skills, tools/software in the simulation domain

Preferred:

Expert in Parametric Design (SolidWorks preferred)
Expert in linear and non-linear Structural Finite Element Analysis (SolidWorks Simulation, Abaqus & ANSYS)
Working knowledge in GD&T, Tolerance stack-up.
Working knowledge of Injection molding design & manufacturing process.
Working knowledge on Creep simulation.
Working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, Lean SS, DFSS)
Understanding of design requirements for medical devices
