Private Secretary (For the Principal Seat) : 6 (OBC/MOBC-3, SC-1, ST(P)-1, ST(H)-1)

Private Secretary (For the Law Research Institute) : 1 (Unreserved)

Eligibility :  Candidates must possess a Bachelors degree from a recognized University with a diploma in Stenography in English with minimum Private Secretary speed of 120 wpm in shorthand and 50 wpm on a computer. Due weightage will be given to Law graduate.

Pay Scale :  Pay Band – 4, Rs. 30000-110000/-, Grade Pay Rs. 13300/-

Age Limit : Category wise age limits for the posts, as on last date of receipt of applications, will be as under:-

1. Unreserved (including 013C/MOBC) - 38 years

2. SC - 43 years

3. ST (P) & ST (H) - 43 years

4. PWD -  48 years

Application Fee :  The details of application fee to be paid by the candidates are indicated below. Persons with disability (PWD) need not pay any fees.

For SC / ST(P) / ST(H) :- Rs. 150/-

For all others :-  Rs. 300/-

Selection Process:

Stage 1 :-  For the post of Private Secretary Stenography Test (Dictation and Transcription). Voice testing before dictation Speed test in shorthand at a speed of 120 words per minute (total 840 words). Time to be given to the candidates for testing the computer. Time for transcription of the dictated portion in computer

Stage 2 : -  Written Examination Written Examination (Descriptive Type) for 100 marks of 2 hours duration on English language Proficiency (80 marks) on the touchstone of Composition, Essay, Grammar as well as knowledge of Assamese language (20 marks). The Written examination will be of qualifying nature and marks obtained therein will not be considered while preparing the final select list.

Stage 3 : -  Viva voce/Interview of 10 marks. Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates for 1 post) will be called for appearing in the Interview.
