Job Description
Printing & Packaging (Same industry only)
- Plans,prepares issues and controls production schedule and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet production requirements
- develops and maintains reports relating to process,product and operation on-time performance.Advises management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardy.
- Works daily with peer's and superior's developing the maturity of the production planning system in support of business goals and a continuous improvement initiative.
- Co-relate planning and scheduling of order's with machine loading and labor availability to obtain optimum utilization of equipment,effective allocation of labor,and on-time delivery of products.
- Evaluate production statistics and their impact to the production schedule.Reports major variances from plan to appropriate management personnel along with a course correction action plan for managing issues as they arise.
- Revises and re-schedules customer's orders when necessary.
- Co-ordinate sub-contracted order's through the purchasing department.
- Performs physical counts of raw material and works in process (WIP) inventory,identifying and solving inventory variances.
- Confirms and releases work orders and prepare purchasing order,including:
- Verification of material availability.
- Re-issuance of materials based on unexpected yield variances.
- Responsible for Kitting and inventory of raw stock.
