Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor  job opportunities in Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Kolkata on contract basis

Professor

No. of Posts :  02

Qualifications :   (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council, Act, 1956. (Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the said Act);and (ii) a post graduate qualification e.g. MD (Doctor of Medicine) or (MS) Master of Surgery or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject or allied discipline

Experience : a) Four years teaching experience as a Reader or Associate Professor in a recognized medical college in the concerned specialty. Note 1: The transitory period of 4 years with effect from 24th July, 2009, the appointment or promotion to the post of Professor can be made by the institutes in accordance with the Medical Council Of India - “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998” as prevailing before notification of Medical Council of India- “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions (Amendment) Regulations, 2009”. Note 2: The provision regarding 4 year transitory period (24th July 2009 to 23rd July 2013) as mentioned in the Note 1 above is no longer applicable. OR, b) Three years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the concerned specialty in a recognized medical college with minimum of four research publications in indexed or national journals provided that these research publications are published or accepted for publication in the Journals by the National Associations or Societies of the respective specialties as the First or Corresponding Author, and further provided that the requirement of four research publications for promotion to the post of Professor should be taken on cumulative basis with minimum of two research publications must be published during the tenure of the Associate Professor.

Associate Professor

Qualifications :   (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council, Act, 1956. (Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the said Act);and; (ii) a post graduate qualification e.g MD (Doctor of Medicine )/ MS (Master of Surgery) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject or allied discipline.

Experience : (a) Five years teaching experience as Lecturer or Assistant Professor in a recognized medical college in the concerned specialty. Assistant Professor

Qualifications :   (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council, Act, 1956. (Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in section 13 (3) of the said Act);and (ii) a post graduate qualification e.g. MD (Doctor of Medicine) or (MS) Master of Surgery or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject or allied discipline

Experience : i. For the candidates possessing MD/MS degree from MCI recognized medical college: a) Three years teaching experience in the subject as Resident/ Registrar/ Demonstrator/Tutor in a recognized medical college either during the post graduation course or after obtaining postgraduate degree in the subject. b) One year as Senior Resident* in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college. ii. Equivalence of qualification of DNB (broad specialties) with MD/MS: a) Those candidates who have undergone DNB training in an institution which now run MCI recognized postgraduate degree courses in a given subject, their DNB qualifications shall be considered at par with MCI recognized qualifications that subject only. b) One year as Senior Resident* in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college. iii. Additional training of one year for equivalence of qualification of DNB (broad Specialties) with MD/MS: a) Those candidates who have undergone DNB training in broad specialties in hospital/ institution other than mentioned in (ii) above, shall undergo one additional year of senior residency or equivalent training or research job in a MCI recognized hospital/ institution, provided such qualifications are notified in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations 2000”. b) One year as Senior Resident* in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college.

Pay & Allowances:

Professor :-  Rs. 177000/-

Associate Professor :- Rs. 116000/-

Assistant Professor :- Rs. 101000/-

Age Limit :  Not exceeding 69 years as on 01.06.2019 for all posts.

Application Fee: A Demand Draft of Rs. 225/- in favour of ‘ESI Fund Account No. I’, drawn after 10.06.2019 on any scheduled bank payable at ‘Kolkata’ has to be submitted along with the Application Form at the time of Interview.

Selection Procedure :  i. The selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidate in interview before the Selection Board.
