Job Description

  • The following temporary position under the above project for the duration of one year or till the end of the project, is to be filled.
  • Project cum Field Assistant (Emoluments: Rs. 15,000.00 fixed)
  • Required Qualification: Graduate having basic knowledge of Computers, Remote sensing & its applications
  • Desirable: Three years of working experience.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in geological field-work, sample collection, assist the field team and experience of working in tough Himalayan terrain.
  • Interested candidates may submit their biodata at the time of interview. 
  • They are required to bring their certificates/degree in Original. 
  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

About Company

The Department of Geology of Kumaun University aims at studies for understanding and development of natural environment and pursuing research relevant to the needs of people, particularly of the mountains. The department endeavours to make its students intelligently aware of the various problems of Geology, to develop in them observational and interpretational abilities and inculcate a feeling for the maintenance and to improvement of our environment. Since its inception department of Geology has maintained the tradition of being active on research fronts of geological sciences. Opened as a one-man undergraduate department in 1975, it became an active centre of teaching and research in 1977 in the field of tectonics, petrology, geochemistry, sedimentology, structural geology and environmental geology. In recognition of the excellent teaching and research, the Geology Department was approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi for its Special Assistance Programmes (COSIST, DRS, SAP, CAS). The department received magnanimous grant under COSIST Phase- I (1984), Special Assistance Programme (SAP) Phase- I (1989), COSIST Phase- II (1991) and SAP Phase- II (1997), SAP Phase- III (2003), ISD (UGC) (2007) and CAS-Phase-I (2011-2016) heralding the overall development of the department.
